The Curated Plate pays deepest respect to the Traditional Custodians of this country; the Kabi Kabi and Jinibara peoples of the coastal plains and hinterlands of the Sunshine Coast.

First Nations people are the original storytellers and artists of these lands and we honour the rich cultural contributions that First Nations people bring to our Festival.

All permit applications must be lodged by May 10, 2024.
  6.  The Industry Partner acknowledges that applications will be reviewed and considered upon submission. The applicant will have an opportunity to revise the application and resubmit for further consideration. 9. Where applicable, Industry Partners hosting a free event agree to display a QR Code provided by Sunshine Coast Council to capture the number of attendees and postcode breakdown (including email address as an option).
  10. The Industry Partner acknowledges that the times and dates submitted in their application will be considered, and best endeavours will be made to accommodate scheduling preferences, however it is possible that not all events will be able to take place at their requested times/dates. It must be noted that the program will offer a wide variety of events and activities which will happen concurrently, and best efforts will be made to ensure that all Industry Partners are able to stage their events on dates/times which will give everyone the best chance for success. Industry Partners acknowledge that acceptance into the program may be on the condition of an alternative time/date being confirmed.
  11. Upon acceptance into the program, the Industry Partner agrees to submit all required event details through The Curated Plate website, including provision of two high resolution images (min 300dpi), by 20 March. Failure to do so will result in removal from the program in 2024. Please note: When providing these images, you are allowing The Curated Plate to use these images for promotion of not only your event but of The Curated Plate. In providing these images you also allow The Curated Plate to place the event logo on the image and circulate these images to all Industry Partners to be used to promote The Curated Plate as part of the digital and print pack. You also allow these images to be printed and used for promotional activity.
  12. In submitting an approved event to The Curated Plate website upon acceptance into the program, the Industry Partner acknowledges a commitment to delivering the agreed event/s or offerings as part of The Curated Plate in 2024. Applicants should not accept a position as an Industry Partner in the approved program if unable to commit to delivering the agreed event.
  13. The Industry Partner agrees to promote their event/s and/or menu offering to their own database and through their own social media channels. Promotions must include the approved The Curated Plate branding and imagery ONLY as supplied by Sunshine Coast Council. Own promotions should also tag the relevant users as outlined in the Industry Partner Marketing Kit supplied to successful applicants.
  14. The Industry Partner is permitted to engage in commercial partnerships, either cash or in-kind, for the purposes of staging an event in a profitable manner. All collaborations or commercial partnerships must be between reputable registered businesses, with the appropriate licenses and/or insurances in place as required. Any such agreements or partnerships are to be agreed solely between the parties involved in an individual event or series of events hosted by the Industry Partner, and do not involve Sunshine Coast Council. It must be noted that The Curated Plate has the right to contract commercial partners for the event as a whole, which may conflict with individual partner partnership categories from time to time.
  15. The Industry Partner agrees to ensure a representative is available for possible media interviews and/or provide further details of their business to The Curated Plate PR & Marketing team.
  16. All Industry Partners are encouraged to direct all media enquiries that don’t apply to their specific offering/event to The Curated Plate’s Program Manager. In the event that Industry Partners share any content and information to the media, you must ensure that the correct designation, branding and event information is referenced.
  17. Applicants acknowledge that all applications to host an event as part of The Curated Plate 2024 program are reviewed by Sunshine Coast Council in conjunction with an independent panel of industry representatives. The Panel’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into upon an application being approved or declined for inclusion in The Curated Plate 2024.
  18. Whilst Sunshine Coast Council will support and promote all approved events, it will bear no responsibility for the profitability, coordination, operation or success of any event conducted as part of The Curated Plate.
  19. Sunshine Coast Council takes no responsibility for any loss of income, inclusive of all financial parameters undertaken to complete and deliver an Industry Partner event. All costs associated with running the event remain each Industry Partner’s responsibility, noting that any revenue will be retained by the Industry Partner (and/or collaborating businesses, where applicable).
  20. Sunshine Coast Council accepts no liability in relation to any event conducted as part of the The Curated Plate program. By accepting a place in the program as an Industry Partner, you acknowledge and confirm that you are adequately licensed and insured to conduct your event. This documentation must be supplied to The Curated Plate Project Manager in order to be confirmed as an Industry Partner.
  21. The Industry Partner agrees to provide two interim reports – one in June and one in July – with requested information on ticket sales and postcode data by completing a short survey by the stipulated due date. This is to assist Sunshine Coast Council, the Project Manager, and the Marketing team to continue to effectively promote the event on the whole, and individual events as required.
  22. The Industry Partner agrees to provide final data on the number of tickets sold through the program, in a format provided by Sunshine Coast Council, including number of tickets sold and postcodes of ticket-holder/attendees.
  23. The Industry Partner agrees to complete a post-event participant survey conducted by Sunshine Coast Council no later than one (1) week post-event, to assist with post-event analysis and future planning.
  24. The Industry Partner agrees to distribute a post-event electronic survey on behalf of Sunshine Coast Council to their ticket holders to assist with post-event analysis and future planning (this survey will be anonymous). Industry Partners will not be responsible for collecting or analysing the data. Sunshine Coast Council will share responses specific to individual events where possible.
  25. Sunshine Coast Council reserves the right to remove an Industry Partner from the approved program in the instance of non-compliance with the Terms and Conditions, or if an Industry Partner acts in such a way that brings the event or Council into disrepute.
  26. The Industry Partner agrees to comply with any current COVID-19 QLD Health restrictions and guidelines at the time of The Curated Plate.
  27. Where a Force Majeur event arises (*definition below) and The Curated Plate 2024 needs to be postponed, cancelled or altered in any way, Sunshine Coast Council will advise all Industry Partners in writing as soon as is practicable. The course of action will be communicated at this time. If forced to cancel or postpone, the Industry Partner’s terms and conditions of ticket purchase and refund policy will come into effect. Please note Points 2, 3 and 4 above of these Terms and Conditions.
  28. The Industry Partner agrees to stipulate terms and conditions and a refund policy to ticketholders which reflect reasonable business practice, including stipulations such as the examples below. Please note that this advice may change over the coming months pending updates to public health advice:
    1. Cancellation Policy - All tickets are non-refundable after purchase unless the Event needs to be cancelled due to a change in COVID-19 restrictions or a natural disaster. NOTE that the Industry Partner needs to stipulate what the refund policy is if the event is cancelled due to a  change in COVID-19 restrictions, or a natural disaster. This may include stipulating timeframes (eg. More than 7 days prior to the event/up to 7 days prior to the event/within 72 hours of the event), and percentage of ticket price applicable to the timing.
    2. Tickets are transferable to another person with the written consent of the purchaser, but no cash refunds will be issued.
    3. We do ask you to stay home if you have COVID-19 symptoms at the time and are feeling unwell, have a cough, fever, sore throat, fatigue or shortness of breath.
    4. Please be responsible and maintain social distancing with others.

*A Force Majeur event is defined as:

  • a physical natural disaster including fire, flood, lightning or earthquake;
  • war or other state of armed hostilities (whether war is declared or not), insurrection, riot, civil commotion, act of public enemies, national emergency or declaration of martial law;
  • breakdown of communication facilities, or generalised lack of availability of raw materials or energy;
  • epidemic, pandemic, quarantine restriction, outbreaks of infectious disease or any other public health crisis;
  • ionising radiation or contamination by radioactivity from any nuclear waste or from combustion of nuclear fuel;
  • confiscation, nationalisation, requisition, expropriation, prohibition, embargo, restraint or damage to property by or under the order of any government agency;
  • Law taking effect after the date of this Agreement; and
  • Strike, lock out, stoppage, labour dispute or shortage.
For Applicants participating in the Brunches and Lunches Series:

This series is designed to allow restaurants, cafés and caterers the opportunity to participate in The Curated Plate in 2024 as part of a simple and streamlined program, which doesn’t require a completely new event concept or idea. Simply come up with a locally-inspired menu that allows you to be marketed along with a tasty variety of other offerings throughout the festival.

  • The Industry Partner agrees to provide a specially designed lunch offering across the entire 10-day Festival event, which features local produce, and celebrates The Curated Plate.
  • Industry Partners participating in Brunches and Lunches should be open most days across the 10-day Festival, however for days where the business does not normally open there is no obligation to open especially for this purpose, unless it is the business’ wish to do so.
  • The time of Brunches and Lunches offerings is 10am – 3pm (ie events/menu offerings must fall within this timeframe).
  • The Industry Partner agrees to price this lunch offer between $15 and $50 incl GST, noting that weekday and weekend pricing and inclusions or add-ons can be different in order to attract different markets (such as locals and business groups on a workday, and visitors on a weekend).
  • Offers should be consistent across the entire festival, OR at least be consistent on weekdays, even if a different consistent offering is available on a weekend. For example:
    • a café/restaurant may have a weekday offering which is more conducive to locals/local workforce groups taking advantage of the offering at a lower price-point, so it may be a smaller/easier dish which includes a local Kombucha instead of an alcoholic beverage;
    • the same business may wish to offer weekend menu item which is more substantial, includes a craft beer/wine, and is available for $40 on both Saturdays and Sundays of the festival.
  • The Industry Partner is permitted to do takeaway or delivery options – for example, to workplaces or homes.
  • The Industry Partner must encourage bookings where at all possible for the purpose of pre-planning and post-event reporting of data; however walk-ins are also encouraged to be accepted where possible, and data captured.
  • The Industry Partner agrees to provide final data on the number of specially designed lunch bookings or The Curated (side) Plate menu purchases that took place over the 10-day period, including postcodes where possible.
