Sunshine Coast Asian Food Festival

Spicers Tamarind Retreat is excited to be hosting our highly-anticipated annual Sunshine Coast Asian Food Festival on Saturday 3rd and Sunday 4th August 2024 from 1:00 pm - 6:00 pm.

Join us for an unforgettable culinary adventure as some of the best Asian restaurants on the Sunshine Coast come together including The TamarindRice Boi and Spirit House.

Set against the backdrop of the lush Maleny rainforest, enjoy an incredible Asian inspired menu, live entertainment and cooking demonstrations throughout the day. With a focus on fresh, locally-sourced ingredients and innovative techniques, our participating chefs will showcase the vibrant flavours and cultural diversity of Asian cuisine.

Bring a picnic blanket and relax in the sunshine whilst enjoying the amazing tastes of Asia.

Due to the nature of this event unfortunately dietary requirements cannot be catered for. This is an outdoor event and will proceed in all weather conditions.

The Sunshine Coast Asian Food Festival is part of The Curated Plate food and drink festival, and has been supported by Tourism and Events Queensland and Sunshine Coast Council.

General entry tickets include five mouth-watering Asian dishes and two matching beverages plus cooking demonstrations. This year, you can purchase an all-inclusive ticket which includes five food tickets, one entry into the Riesling Masterclass and a 4-hour unlimited beverage package including beverages by the glass (excludes champagne). Otherwise, if you wish to join our ‘Riesling Masterclass’, there is a separate ticket that includes this.

Ticket prices are as follows:

  • $139.00 for a general admission ticket per adult which includes five food tickets (one ticket for each stall) and two beverage tickets (excludes champagne)
  • $99.00 per child (18 years and under), under 2’s go free
  • $199.00 for a general admission ticket which includes five food tickets (one ticket for each stall) and two beverage tickets (excludes champagne) plus one entry into the Riesling Masterclass
  • $299.00 for an all inclusive ticket which includes five food tickets (one ticket for each stall) plus a 4 hour unlimited beverage package (1pm-5pm) which includes beverages by the glass (excludes Champagne) plus one entry into the Riesling Masterclass.

Transportation:

For the convenience of guests, there will be opportunity to purchase a return bus transfer from locations across the Coast. This can be added to your ticket for $25. Buses will depart from Noosa, Caloundra, Mooloolaba and Brisbane.

A park and ride shuttle will also run between Spicers and the Maleny Historical Society throughout the day if you choose to drive to the event.

Noosa Bus Times:

  • 11:30 am - departs Noosa Junction Bus Station
  • 11:35 am - departs Noosa Heads Bus Station
  • Arrives at Spicers Tamarind Retreat approx 12:45 pm
  • Departs Spicers Tamarind Retreat at 6:00 pm back to Noosa

Caloundra Bus:

  • 12:00pm - departs Caloundra Transit Centre
  • Arrives at Spicers Tamarind Retreat approx 12:45 pm
  • Departs Spicers Tamarind Retreat at 6:00 pm back to Caloundra

Mooloolaba Bus:

  • 12:00pm - departs Sea Life Mooloolaba
  • Arrives Spicers Tamarind Retreat approx 12:45pm
  • Departs Spicers Tamarind Retreat at 6:00 pm back to Mooloolaba

Enjoy a range of delicious Asian-inspired street food dishes, complete with dessert by Maleny Food Co and drinks from some of the Sunshine Coast's best beverage producers. The menu from each restaurant will be revealed closer to the event.

Drinks:

To match the sensational food on offer, an epic round of the Sunshine Coast’s own beverage producers will be pouring the drinks.

There will be craft beer from Brouhaha Brewery Maleny, inspired cocktails from Sunshine and Sons Cocktail Bar, Brockenchack Wines, as well as Champagne by the glass and bottle from the prestige House of Taittinger.

Sunny Coast Water will have the most delicious way to stay cool and hydrated through the day, with a thirst-quenching range of non-alcoholic beverages, including kombucha.
