Peter Kuruvita - Chef Ambassador of The Curated Plate for 2024

We welcome on board Sunshine Coast Chef Peter Kuruvita as our 2024 Curated Plate Ambassador. Peter is an award-winning chef and restaurateur, TV presenter, author, culinary tour guide and food & beverage consultant.

With this love for food and the Sunshine Coast, Peter will be showing off his inspiring curations at the Queensland’s Sunshine Pantry.

As a panel member for our Chefs in Conversations event, Peter will inspire foodies, sharing stories about his extensive experience from owning restaurants to working at exclusive restaurants all over the world.

Peter has now presented five (5) TV series produced by The Precinct Studios for SBS Television, which air on many networks worldwide and also published three (3) cookbooks “Serendip – My Sri Lankan Kitchen” the next was “My Feast” and the latest “Lands of the Curry Leaf”.

Peter’s latest collaboration with Parkridge Noosa created the iconic food precinct Alba Noosa in 2021. The beautifully designed venue became famous for its restaurant, events and state-of-the-art Cooking School featuring Peter’s signature style of fresh quality produce and local seafood, spiced with Sri Lankan and world flavours. The collaboration was finalised in 2024 with an Australian Good Food Guide ‘Chef’s Hat’ and Alba Noosa continuing as an event venue.

In his hometown of Noosa, Peter opened Noosa Beach House in partnership with Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort (2013-2021). Featuring a fine dining restaurant and busy all-day open terrace bar, the restaurant won the coveted Sunshine Coast Business of the Year award in 2019.

Aninspiring panel discussion hosted by Celebrity Cook Hayden Quinn (Taste of Australia & MasterChef) who will uncover the secrets behind four of the Sunshine Coast's most talented chefs Peter Kuruvita (former Head Chef Alba), Tom Hitchcock (Head Chef of Spirit House) and Cameron Mathews (Head Chef of Mapleton Pub) and Stacey Conner (Head Chef / Owner of Humble on Duke).

After the panel discussion, guests will have the opportunity to meet and greet Hayden, Peter, Cameron, Stacey and Tom.

Ticket price of $59 includes panel discussion, a welcome drink on arrival and a selection of locally produce canapes after the panel discussion.
