Chefs in Conversation

Join us for an inspiring panel discussion hosted by Celebrity Cook Hayden Quinn (Taste of Australia & MasterChef) who will uncover the secrets behind four of the Sunshine Coast's most talented chefs.

  • Peter Kuruvita (former Head Chef Alba)
  • Tom Hitchcock (Head Chef of Spirit House)
  • Cameron Mathews (Executive Chef/Partner of Mapleton Public House)
  • Stacey Conner (Head Chef / Owner of Humble on Duke)

Whats included:

Upon arrival at the Coast's newest venue Altitude Nine, your welcome drink will be supplied by our local First Nation Gin Company, Beachtree Distillery. Made from one of the three award winning Gin’s & Vodka from Beachtree’s products that are bursting with Australia native botanicals and made with certified organically grown sugar cane.

After the panel discussion, enjoy a curated menu of locally produced canapes:

  • Locally sourced Lamb fillet on parmesan shortbread with salsa verde
  • Freshly caught Mooloolaba prawn Caesar salad en croute (GF)
  • Jerk spiced chicken skewers with coriander Kenilworth yoghurt (GF)
  • Hum Honey glazed fig, goats’ cheese, walnut biscuit (V)

You will have the opportunity to meet and greet Hayden, Peter, Cameron, Stacey and Tom while taking in the beautiful views of the sun setting over the Glasshouse mountains from the rooftop bar.

*Additional drinks will be available to purchase from the venue bar.

  • The event will take place on Saturday 27 July, 2:00pm arrival, and concluding by 6:00pm.

Ticket price of $59 includes panel discussion, a welcome drink from Beachtree Distillery on arrival and a selection of locally produce canapes after the panel discussion

Hayden Quinn

In 2011 Hayden launched into the Cooking world with his appearance on Master Chef Australia Season 3 and a regular on Australian TV with his own program Taste of Australia. Hayden will be showcasing his cooking skills with alive demonstration at The Queensland Sunshine Pantry and will be hosting our Chefs In Conversations event at Altitude 9.

Peter Kuruvita

We welcome on board Sunshine Coast Chef Peter Kuruvita as The 2024 Curated Plate Ambassador, with this love for food and the Sunshine Coast, Peter will be showing off his inspiring curations at the Queensland Sunshine Pantry and will be inspiring foodies with his extensive experience from owning retsurants to working at exclusive restaurants all of the world at the Chefs in Conversations event.

Tom Hitchcock

Tom Hitchcock was announced as the winner of the Foodservice Australia 2023 Chef of the Year – considered the most prestigious chef competition in the nation. Tom will be opening up the doors at Spirit House for a one-off Cooking Class and private dinning experience and will be joining Chef Peter Kuruvita at the Chefs In Conversations where you will be able to hear more about his drive towards winning the Chef of The Year as the first Queenslander.

Cameron Matthews

Cameron is passionate about creating a blueprint for the Food Service Industry to improve sustainability across key areas including sourcing, society, environments, and Chefs mental health. Cameron passion is evident in his hands on experience with Falls Farm collaborating with Head Farmer Pedro on planting produce that can go from paddock to the plate while reducing any wastage.

Stacey Conner

Stacey hails from New Zealand, a small southland town called Invercargill, with her passion for cooking taking her to the big city lights of Auckland working alongside some of New Zealand’s & now Australia’s greatest chefs. From New Zealand to Dubai, Stacey’s journeys have taken her all over the world inspiring her Middle Eastern cuisines that are now showcases at her own restaurant on the Sunshine Coast, Humble on Duke.
